Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 5 July 2026

1. What computerooms is

computerooms is a marketplace that connects people looking for a room with people who have one to offer, aimed at tech and remote workers. We provide the platform — listing, search, messaging, and payments — but we are not a party to, and do not guarantee, any tenancy or room-sharing arrangement made between users. You are responsible for verifying a listing, a flatmate, and any agreement you enter into with another user.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • You must provide accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account.
  • One account per person. Impersonating someone else, or creating an account on behalf of someone who hasn’t consented, is not allowed.

3. Identity verification

To help keep the community safe, we may ask you to verify your identity by uploading a selfie and a government-issued ID through our verification partner. That check is processed by the verification partner directly — we never see or store your raw ID document or biometric data ourselves, only whether verification succeeded. We may limit some features (such as listing a room or messaging) to verified accounts.

4. Listings

  • If you list a room, the information you provide (price, photos, availability, description) must be accurate and up to date.
  • You must have the right to offer the room you list (e.g. as the tenant, subtenant with permission, or owner).
  • We can remove a listing at any time if it looks fraudulent, misleading, or breaches these terms.

5. Conduct and safety

You agree not to use computerooms to:

  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user
  • Post a fake listing or fake profile, or misrepresent who you are
  • Attempt to defraud another user, including asking for payment outside the platform to bypass safety checks
  • Share another user’s personal information without their consent

If someone behaves this way, use the Report feature on their profile, listing, or conversation, or contact us directly (see Section 10). We review reports and may warn, suspend, or permanently remove an account as a result. We are not able to monitor every interaction on the platform, and reporting a user does not guarantee a particular outcome.

6. Messaging

Messages between users are visible only to the participants in that conversation. We may access message content if required to investigate a report, resolve a dispute, or comply with the law.

7. Payments and subscriptions

Paid plans (Host and Priority) are billed on a recurring monthly basis through Stripe until you cancel. Fees are shown before you subscribe. You can cancel at any time from the pricing page; your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. We don’t offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

8. Temp wall installations

Where a listing offers a temporary partition wall, any quote and installation is carried out by our third-party installation partner under their own terms. computerooms facilitates the introduction and quote request but is not the installer and is not responsible for the installation itself.

9. No guarantee, limitation of liability

computerooms does not vet rooms, hosts, or flatmates beyond the identity verification and reporting tools described above, and we make no guarantee about the condition of a room, the accuracy of a listing, or the conduct of another user. To the fullest extent permitted by law, computerooms is not liable for any loss or damage arising from an arrangement you make with another user, including financial loss, property damage, or personal harm. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, for fraud or death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

10. Contact and complaints

Questions about these terms, or want to report an issue? Email us at support@computerooms.com. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

11. Suspending or closing your account

You can stop using computerooms and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, including for behaviour reported under Section 5.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continuing to use computerooms after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
